Importing a frame from Canada costs

Has anyone received a frame from Canada and can advise on the costs ?

Postage we are working on. But what else am I going to cop for ?

Believe there’s no additional charges from Canada being a trade partner and postage shouldn’t be horrendous

It’s a used frame. From the 90s.

Any experience of what happens with UPS and any VAT/duties owed?

Weekly i import lots via UPS for our business which is simply billed after delivery. But I'm assuming its different for private individuals?

To answer this for anyone else

20 % Vat on price of item and postage combined

No duty

£13.60 UPS fee

However on the receipt it does say that they contact if more fees are due. I hope not.

Since I’m stuck at work for another hour or so I thought I’d update this with a bit of breakdown for anyone in the future looking to do the same

I’ve attached some screenshots of the parcels route to me. It took a long journey but I’m so impressed with how fast it was. I use UPS for work weekly and I’ve always praised them but now I’m an even bigger fan.

4 days from leaving the sellers possession to being in my garage is remarkable really.

Fees were paid online via a link. As mentioned 20% plus the fee.

I collected the box from my local depot as I know them there as I go weekly.

Cost wise yes it wasn’t cheap. But I cannot fault the service or timeframe.

Now I’ll never hesitate to buy from Canada again.
