Imlach's Sweaty Hippie Funk Collection, adventure bikes, rusty rats, cruisers and other alt bastardisations of bicyclery

The unspoken needs to be said. The one who is criticizing here has a Norco that still won't be ready by that time
No criticising really, you don't like the look of something that's fair. I do see the argument to some extent, but as someone who does consistently ride frames too small or too big I'm always happy to see something being made purposeful. Aesthetics do play a big role in my mind too, but what has happened is that I've done weird things to my bikes for so long that I prefer the look. So even though I think that bike looks ridiculous, it also looks ridiculously good. 🤔

As Jan said. It makes you chuckle but in a loving way.

What I'm doing to the Kona isn't quite that extreme BTW. But I am going fairly upright because I am tired of trying to do something in a more traditional way (more norba, more aggressive) then gaslighting myself into saying its good when I really wish I was on a Danish/Dutch city bike. All I can say is that for the Kona we've got Surly Corner bars, we've got long ass steerer lining up to saddle and a delicious straggler fork and much more satanic deviance to come. I am genuinely excited for this I think it could turn out as perfect as my Kocmo

Now what I don't like, despite me sometimes sharing bikes in here, is "alternative" additions to bikes because it seems to be the "thing". I think it's OK to do that but it can look contrived. For me, and I hope this is apparent to others - every time I've done something odd or unusual it has usually led me to a bike that works better for me.

And I still love a classic 90s norba mtb, it's just I hate riding them with a passion.
