Have you seen THM's builds...Full agree. An utter hero as a cyclist, mechanic and just a plain old human being. He had his faults too, but excelled in sheer bloody mindedness and a sound approach to problem solving within constraints.
Glad I witnessed it all in my lifetime, and although I would like to see something like that again, I doubt it will be repeated.

This is true, for actual convenience it's bad practice. But I'm a sucker for fat tyres with road adjacent frames. I'm thinking to get a Marino built with cross check geo, with clearance for 2.8s and make some adjustments to prevent excessive toe overlap. One for the future.Some of the tyres are just too big in a couple of examples. BB raised too much, toe overlap with the front wheel and shudder to think if any wheel buckles. Personally think many people can get far too carried away ramming in the biggest wheels and tyres they can find
