hi

aussie or new zealand armies have good reputations. The legion is a whole different ball game.

I served with guys with experience of the legion. If you pm me your number I'll give you a ring and tell you about it. Toe curling.

What he said! A friend of mine joined up, did the training, declined to sign up for 5 years and returned to normal life.....as a complete nutter, some of the shit they had to do was just, well, toe curling!

How old are you fella? Whats wrong with our army?

Moving to France- yes!

Joining the Legion (or any other military force)- no!

Armies and all that shit is just bad karma dude. Stick to fettling all the old dears around the caravan park matey.

Peace.

The legion are nutters by anyones standards plus you got to like singing in french and be bloody good at ironing and of course being stationed in France is seldom the option, deserts and steaming jungles predominate.

I'd try enlisting in the Australian army if you already have military experience, I believe it can be done. Alternatively as we're involved in two foreign conflicts are existing UK forces are leading more exciting lives than a few year back.

the legion may be full of nutters but thats part of the appeal for me to be honest i did think about the aus forces ie marines and would prefer it any day of the week but the selection process for candidates from england can take years to be sorted and processed, i just miss the life style but i think the missus is gonna put a stump on this she dosn't want me doing "those violent things again" and it worries her a little.

rosstheboss im 26 mate i did a 5 1/2 year stint in the navel fleet air arm (3 in iraq) attached to a marine sqn was fun but (here's the but) there where a lot of lads and navel lasses that never pulled there weight and nothing was done as no one want to couse a seen or fiction (fear of tabloids stiring things out of control) so those of us grafting had to twice as hard.

my complaint with england is more politcal than anything else ie

1. why does the goverment always have to make a hash of things (all partys included)
2.why are so many immagrants aloud in when we dont even have enough for are selfs :?
3. why are people in britain putting up with it  :?

i love my home but its not what it used to be and the way the law works here just scares me half to death i just dont feel safe here anymore.

you might do your training in france but after that a lot of the legion are based in north africa and east africa . i doubt you would see much of france being in the legion .

Ah, "immigrants" - Yes, of course... The motivated, hard-working, multi-lingual, over-skilled nightmares of any spiralling, post-colonialist society like your beloved "England".

You don't specify what "scares" you about "the way the law works", or why you feel "unsafe"". Is it the constant erosion of democratic rights? Or just that your Government allows in people from other races and cultures, who dilute the myth of "English-ness" and compete for your jobs?

A few suggestions:
1. You could try moving to Scotland... they'd love your Anglo-centric obsession up there.
2. You could reflect on the hypocrisy of criticizing immigrants while you decide on your own emigration plans.
3. You could review your less than stellar grammatical skills in what is, presumably(?), your native language.
4. Maybe just stay within your institutionalised armed forces environment. where there's no real competition for skills and you're guaranteed a salary. The closest thing left to a "job for life" [/irony].
5. Whatever country you choose, just don't come and live near me - Thanks!

* Or maybe I mis-interpreted your "immigrants" post? In which case, I apologise.

Come on Danny, its certainly not an influx of immigrants that are f**king up this country. There are so many other factors that are buggering things up. Stop reading the tabloids- it will give you a whole new slant on life!
