This will hopefully be an interesting project. Having owned this Pinnacle for 33 years, it's gone from its original gloss black, to a raw aluminium incarnation, to a rat bike as you see here.
The idea is to do a high quality paint job using marine / heritage enamel paints. I am a canal boat painter and have about £1000 worth of spare paint lying around so it seems a bit silly to consider using anything else!
In terms of paint scheme, I'm thinking a nod to the traditional with a unique twist - "Rainforest-esque". The paint will be applied in the same manner as the famous Rainforest scheme but in more muted green shades. Much as I loved that scheme, the use of black jarred with me a bit so I'll be using a pale-ish muted green for the base coat with two other green shades - one lighter, one darker, for the sponge applied elements.
Were the Pinnacle and Rascal available in Rainforest? I have seen one Rascal in that scheme but I wonder whether that might have been a repaint...
Anyway, hoping to get this project done within a month but we'll see how it goes!!
