Idiot dangerous driver boils my blood

Re:

I don't drive in a way to p.ss anyone off actually. If there's plenty of space behind me and I'm travelling a bit faster that the truck in front I overtake it. Simply make a judgement call based on traffic conditions.
As for speed of hgv's, I always set the limiter to whatever the lmit is for the road I'm on. If drivers of cars with this facility did the same, then there would probably less accidents to hold me, and you, up!
Use of phones is the biggest problem as a large proportion of drivers I see are using them when they go past.
Surely they're more dangerous than someone speeding, as they're not concentrating
Just my opinion for what it's worth

I am sure you are a considerate driver, as most are. Lorries driving on rural roads are another thing though. We have thousands of lorries servicing wind farm installations, carrying away felled timber and making deliveries. Most are far too large, and resultantly damage the roads, making them precarious on cycle or even motorbike. I more or less only venture out on bikes that can take a decent hit without throwing you off now. So not really a function of driver behaviour in terms of the people driving these wagons, more a case of they should not be on these roads in the first place.

The fannies that turn sections of the A9 into a rolling road block ought to be pulled by the authorities and made to take an English test. There are numerous signs advising lorries to let cars pass.

It is unfathomable that people think it is safe to use a phone at the wheel nowadays. I always use a hands free, and make the call as short as possible. The fines should be higher, and this behaviour should attract a serious endorsement. Five points at least.

Re:

I'm surprised there isn't provision made for these vehicles, HF.
There should be, by the sound of things. Have you contacted the council about the damage? Don't want you bending your rims now, do we?

Re:

Thanks for the replies...

  • Have emailed video to the fuzz but heard nothing back, wouldn't expect anything different really.

The car is not a Lambo it was a very nice TVR with pearlescent paint, made a lovely noise!

Caught up with the Golf at the next roundabout, made it very clear to the driver I had caught his idiotic driving on camera.

Perhaps the next move is to send it to the countywide Sunday paper?

Had a scare a week ago on Snake Pass.
I was 8 cars back at the rear of a chain behind a truck, in the dark and rain, with the ubiquitous Focus ST weaving behind me looking for a way past

Suddenly, he guns it past the lot of us, through several blind bends, and misses the car coming towards him by what seemed like an inch! Car locked up, truck locked up, we all shit ourselves and bunch up narrowly avoiding ramming into the back of each other...
I kid you not, this was within feet of the JMC shrine

Rarely do you see a truck on the Snake, and you never see the JMC shrine on the Snake. You must have been on Woodhead Pass, big problem there is people who are unwilling to overtake the lorry in front (and there is always a lorry in front) still insist on driving so close no one else can slip between.
