ICONOCLASSIC 2015 AFTERMATH

Re: ICONOCLASSIC - UK'S LARGEST DISPLAY OF PRE-'95 MTBS!

What a great gathering! Gatorgreen with envy right now!

Re:

Cool show Tom; thanks again. I'll be back next year and hopefully with three bikes.

Does anyone know who the chap was behind the coffee stand selling the NOS campy, Sachs stuff? I meant to go back but completely forgot. Could do with his number if anyone knows.

His name is Kevin.

Send me a PM and I'll pass on his details.

Captaincosmic knows him, he owns the other Mercian.

My 1990 Splatterpaint Cindercone with original paint didn't compare to the Dave Yates Vulcan but that's not the point, its about rich diversity of design (sometimes over function) granted a 1992 Kays catalogue tank in knackered condition might be a bit out there, and along way from ICONIC but I've seen your builds so stop being modest and start making plans...

I completely agree. While I don't personally subscribe to the priceless to the point of being unrideable school of thought, I was in as much awe as anyone looking at, for example, the Trimble on whites or the red anodised Pace. I prefer to see some evidence of use myself and that's why I liked the carbon-tubed British Eagle as much.

Which brings me to my point: Tom, if you're reading this, why not a "Survivor" section next year? My son still has his Cinder Cone that I built for him some 20 years ago - it's been in continuous use in all that time....and it shows! But, like Spud's, it's still cool.

By the way, did anyone pick up a stand (one of those double-inverted-V types)? We seem to have left one behind. Many thanks.

Re:

Belated thanks to Tom for organising a great event. Amazing bikes, people, pubs and weather. Thanks for the posted pictures too, even the one of me looking hungover...going to get out on the Karakoram now and get some dirt on it.

Re: ICONOCLASSIC - UK'S LARGEST DISPLAY OF PRE-'95 MTBS!

The two chaps in the tracksuits in the old picture were Tim Gould (I think) on the left and David Baker (definitely) on the right.
