They were incredibly expensive to build and so a business decision stopped them building at 269 frames. I’ve never heard of one cracking or breaking and , of course, suspension design continued to progress but there’s something quite magic about these. Steve Potts continues to add disc mounts to them and will do stuff on them but the wait time is long the price is high and the work frankly gorgeousThey fact that they made so few is testament to how bad a design it was
