Anyone else use one?

I dabbled with this idea a while ago and promptly forgot about it.

Heathy has one from what he said.

I want one! How does it work, ist is good and whats the duration and quality like?

It all depends.

If you sell a couple of Fats and the Trimble to fund one, it will be the D's B's.
If you spend £30 quid, it's gonna look like you spent £30.

Oh and then there's all the stuff you need to make the most of the footage.....

How long's a piece of string? :D :D

It really is all about; you pays your money and you takes your choice.

Is that going to look pants in the telly?

Erm... you've been staring at the washing machine, not the TV, if you can see pants in your telly.

Really don't know. Have you got a web link to it?

It's all about frame rates and lines of resolution and lens quality (Oh and how much ya head shakes about! :D ). How many Mins will it record?

Jez...wish i could help with this,but....i haven't even used it yet
To be honest i forgot i had it, and was saving it for a trip to Wales or something.
Its a Oregon Scientific ATC-1000 Helmet Camera if that helps.
Not sure how much they are new either as i got from some guy on stw.
It is a self contained unit that runs on aa's and uses a memory card,
A 2 gb card should do about 2 hours of filming.Thats all i know so far

Two Hours!!

You ain't going to want to sit and watch that in one go!

For comparison, 5min of DV quality video takes 1Gb of memory.

It's going to be OK in short burst, but I wouldn't make a feature film with one. ;)

have a rake on the gadget show website they reveiwed tough cameras last season, and the one that won could be used as a helmet cam, cost about 130 IIRC

Helmet cam could be a great help if cycling in cities. Catch the action as it happens. Not your word against his/hers in an accident.
