Yes most of the Horizon Linear Fade ones have gone that way, only a couple of breeding pairs left in the wild apparently.

Yes, that's absolutely true - but you have not looked at the periodic table of the atomic weight of the different colours of bike parts. Amongst pure substances and isotopes, fission reactions can occur using various metals including lithium - the Castle Bravo test yield was far more than calculated because of that. And here, the position of 3DV on the periodic table of bike parts means that, used too liberally on a build, can induce runaway reaction with ordinary purple, and even blue, with disastrous results. It's no secret that Hope won't openly sell their team anodised green parts due to the risks involved.

Very sorry to say Jimo, but reports are coming in of one of the last Horizon Linear Fades 'going up' in New Mexico. Very sad.
