Jimo - re dinosaurs I was very amused by the work in the '60's trying to find the crater of the impactor strike which putatively did for the dinosaurs. They looked and looked, and then fretted that maybe it was on the bottom of the ocean and therefore difficult to survey. Then someone realised that they needed to change the scale of what they were looking for....and realised that in fact it was a HUGE hole in the Gulf of Mexico
