Anyone with experience of mounting and using this lightweight derailleur? Can it really handle 28t?

I bought a bike with one fitted from new and it couldn't handle the 6spd freewheel that had been on there for 40 years or so.. It was a nice trinket but even the most basic shimano or Suntour mech worked far better

Does it not have the same geometry as the Huret Eco? Those could handle a 28 tooth no bother as long as the jockey wheel cage was fitted in the correct hole. Many Eco's still going strong after all these years. But yes Shimano and Suntour were more sophisticated.

Yep, it has two positions for 24/28 t

Sbhows my ignorance, it was probably set to 24t from new!
