Hi,
I am moving my 950 rear mech onto a new frame that has chainstay gear cable routing. Is there a different M950 mech that can accomodate that routing or is it a case of putting a massive ugly loop ? Rollamjig / Any ideas ? Thanks!!

Yes.

:D

I have one running from the chainstay, it's not that different from the ugly loop running out from the seat stay.

I don't think I have ever seen(or noticed) any other method of cable routing for a rear mech - I assume there are some seat stay routed frames, learn something new every day I do.

New glasses for you The Ken, seatstay mounted cable routing has been around for years, I've had several 90's bikes with that routing. Keeps cables away from the muddy horror of the bottom bracket area.

I'd go for a Rollamajig too, alway thought they looked well neat ;)

As long as you use good quality outer of a decent length, there's no real need for a rollamajig, even for chainstay routing. The only advantage is if you feel a need to run a very short outer to avoid any chance of the cable getting snagged on trail obstacles - even a good quality outer will deform and constrict the cable inside it if you make it take an extremely tight turn. But provided the outer is on a curve of a decent size that doesn't deform it, the cable will run perfectly smoothly without a roller device.

Slightly bewildered that anyone would think that this is in any way an unusual setup, but still. Nice smooth loop FTW :)
