The silk Dunlops wer £5 each, but as a retailer I did not pay that much. The Dunlops were a bit slippery in the wet, but we used to send them back for repair, and 2 out of 3 were replaced free of charge.The Dunlop road cottons were a little larger.
There were no sponsors contributing to the level I was in. I rode a 3 day early 1957, rode 90 miles to the start the previous day, anything required had to be carried on my bike.
