Hi, I've just got my mitts on a lovely pair of DX M636 peddles in great condition from a charity shop, hardly used and in the box.
OK, here's the rub, does anyone know how to service them? If you know how can you let me know, they're a little notchy and I suspect they could be a little better with some grease in them. ;)

Remove the 2 steel cage plates (4 bolts each) and shebang, the aluminum outside piece will pull off the end of the spindle, exposing the 'guts' for your servicing pleasure.

Just a note of caution............
Shimano did have a special tool (about £40) to set the bearings up. Maybe not needed. But may be important.Anyway if these are newish you will not need them serviced for a while

Yeah, Just figured that one out, canget a good squirt of grease down the outside bearings but not the inner ones, oh well.
