How to remove the headset cups from 1990 Marin?

Hi,

Does anyone know if the oversize headset on my 1990 zolatone Pine Mountain is removed by unthreading or by knocking it out with a drift?

It's in there good and proper and isn't going anywhere without some force, so want to make sure I'm going about it in the right way.

I just knocked mine out.

Agreed..they are push fit and not threaded

Plenty of pre days soaking with something like plus gas or gt 85 will help

Or just use a big screwdriver/scrap metal pipe like a lot of other people do. They aren't made of glass so as long as you don't go mental they are easy to tap out.

Getting the new ones back in is another matter...
