how to remove paint from cabrbon fibre

the reason why they have painted it is probably to help prtect agaist stone chips. If you leave naked and not pit lacquer on it the problem is not just discolouration, but the carbon weve if scratched can weaken significantly, hence the piant would protect the lower seat tube from stones

its more like plastic canoe material like the Trimble

If you listen really carefully you can hear the steam start to coming out of Tintin's ears, plastic canoe indeed.

 I always look on them as recycled reliant Robins

Just go easy sanding....

Carbon fibres are bad news for your lungs like asbestos
and you'll potentially itch for weeks if you get it under the skin....
wear a mask and wear gloves.

You're darn right. Don't breathe the stuff in.

Oops, I found out the hard way about the itchiness - working on wheel arches, in the kitchen, in my boxers ... felt like a bloody cactus, it even ruined the boxers as the next time I wore them was a day at Alton towers and I ended up scratching my balls all day again

didn't know about the lung stuff though, even though it seems obvious now :-(

In all fairness though if you end up sanding anything other than the laquer on a bike frame, I reckon you have gone a little to far ...
