pre strip down seat post at max just fits my extra long legs (37" inside leg) it's getting a good clean and degrease. New cables and we'll see how it goes

the easiest way is to throw it in the canal for a few months - that ages steel and aluminium nicely.

I bought this nice little Marin some while ago as a plan to get my other half onto a bike and also because I remember myself wanting one of these b.i.t.d. Sadly it has sat in the shed for several years now other than the very occasional outing and so the time has come for it to find a new home...

Can confirm '98. Third character in the serial number is the year of production

I'd be careful riding it with so much seat tube exposed as that's going to put a lot of force through the seat collar and aluminium frames love to crack there.

I set it that height for test fit I wouldn't be riding at that height, but thanks for heads up. Unless I get a longer seat tube.
