How old is my Marin Bear Valley SE?

It doesn't look in too bad condition either.. a bit of elbow grease and a lube here and there and you're sorted.

Agree 100% :D

I don't think it needs a restoration, just remove the components and give everything a damn good clean and should come up well. The key thing will be how worn is the drive train ? period correct wheels are about £60 or think that is what I paid for pair DX650 hubs and M231 rims, in v good condition, depending on what the replacement wheels are then may be some saving from replacing and selling the other pair, (it sounds like an 8 speed hub hence packer).

if selling then I'd split if want to maximise cash........and if you do then I might be interested in frame as 17.5, my 19 is too big. I think £100-200 is a better range though depending on condition and wear ?

Thanks daugs. Not sure about drive train tbh as it kind of jerks every now and again under load. Chain broke last ride which suggests it is worn, but gears all function perfectly. Wheels are Shinmano WH-M505 and literally new - done not even 100 miles. It has been well cared for and always kept inside in the dry and never jet washed. I'm not necessarily wanting to maximise cash, as I suspect that would require more time and skill than I have to split. Happy to post some detail pics?
