Thanks allenh. My thoughts as well. Some research on Italian sites seems to indicate that the decals on Italian made bikes have the "block capital" decals as on mine, whereas the French products all seem to show the "script" signature style.
And yes, ditch (or sell!) the sprint wheels and look out for some nice old Italian clinchers - perhaps some Fiamme rims on Ofmega hubs? I'll ask around on here.
But certainly a refurb is now on the cards. Interestingly there's a "nuovo" (new) Geminiani on ebay.it looking very much like mine - but they're asking 2,500 euro!
