How do you tell original paint?

At first glance, it looks original, I assume that it is the same as the choices available at the time. What makes you think it might not be?
 
It's a lot of work to produce decals - often a quick Google to see it you can buy identical ones can narrow the answer down.

Catalogue search can often find colour and decal editions, although of course the repaint might match.

Usually with a respray you can see if both paints in the bb shell or head tube.

But if course if a frame is repainted in the same colour, by the same method, and original decals attached, there's basically nothing to see.
