How do you tell if a frame was designed for mafac racers or other center pulls?

I want to get some better vintage brakes for my Ellis Briggs. I’ve read that mafac racers were good and that many custom bikes were designed for them. Is there any way to tell?

It's all about the drop dimension unless your wanting the rare braze on types.

So it wouldn’t be any different than the drop for standard sidepulls of the period?

Whelp, looks like I own a pair of Mafac Racers now. Hope this works out.

This 1977 Daniel Salmon was built with Mafac Racer in mind - it even has recessed allen key version - but sadly not the braze-ons which would have been even better
