How close should a front mech get to the rear tyre?

Dont see how it is due to rear triangle.
Just measured 10 mm between cage and tyre, SLX mech in small chain ring, tyre 2.25 racing ralph, widest tyre i have.
Tyre should not rub on cage, can you fit spacer to move RH crank outwards?
Is rim symmetrical on hub, turn rear wheel around and see if gap changes.
The cage should be parallel to chainrings but you should be able to angle the mech out to gain a few mm and still have good shifting, a bodge but may work.

It's clear of the tyre now using the adjuser screws and should be fine for shifting, it's just way closer than any other build I've done. Tyre wise I'm not normally using as wide ones so it could just be down to that, just thought I'd ask. Not used sram before either so it could just be how their mechs are.
As for hub and crank spacing, these are all as they should be so no room to play with there, but sounds as though I don't need to play.

Just measured mine on Soul and I've got 11mm gap between tyre and cage with a 2.1 tyre (old style XT mech) and the same on the Lava Dome running a 2.1 with old style LX mech , both bikes are running a 3X9 crankset set up as granny middle and bash , Soul is 73 mm BB with spacer on one side only and LD is 68 mm BB with 2 spacers one side and 1 the other if that helps , try sticking an old Shim mech on .
I'm using X0 and X9 3X9 shifters btw with X0 9 speed rear mechs on both bikes .
Both bikes take 27.2 seatpost same as your pipedream and I'm using a spacer/shim whatever you want to call it on the mechs .

Get it cabled up and adjusted properly. If it's still "too" close to the tyre, then is the time to start worrying.
Most mechs can be adjusted to rub on a fat tyre; it's just the way it came from the factory.
If the mech won't shift the chain onto the big ring cleanly then there is obviously a problem with your chain line, but that's for later too.
