How can I tell if my wheel rims are worn?

I have Campagnolo Stheno rims on my Clockwork, these are concave rims, how can I tell if these need replacing?

Cheers,

Roger

If they are already noticeably concave then they probably need replacing, especially if the braking surfaces are grooved or gouged.

You will be tearing down a long fast downhill, hear a loud bang, your rim is in two pieces rattling away. That's when your rim is worn out.

The best way is the bang-shit test. Pump the tyres up to 100psi. If the rims don't split, they're fine. If they do, well, better in your driveway than out on the trail ;-)
