how about a photography thread?

couple of seaside shots
i like them, but wouldn't even consider myself at the level of enthusiastic amateur, just like messing about.

A few of mine...

Love your bee photo! Mine was accidental; the bee flew into what was supposed to be a photo of a flower, and he was gone so fast I didn't know whether he got in the shot. Did you try to take a bee photo?

It doesn't matter what kind of forum you ask people to show their photography in, in the digital era the results are always stunning. It used to cost so much to take photos that you had to ration your shots, and even when you got a great one, no one else would see it unless you were a professional. I shot nearly a hundred photos yesterday, and it cost me nothing. Digital rules!

Like the blackbird-in-tree picture! Might make a good DIY Christmas card as a change from the usual diet of all those robins?

I have been advised from several quarters that my "bumblebee" is actually a "bumblebee moth," Hemaris diffinis, which is such a good imitation of the real thing that I wonder whether I have ever seen an actual bumblebee in my life or whether they have all been this critter.

I would never have stumbled across this datum had I not snapped the photo and posted it on a couple of websites. Then I started wondering HOW MANY PEOPLE knew this little entomological fact about an insect native to California, because this is not the only site where my identification has been corrected.

thought I'd bump this up with a snap I snapped today..
