Oh god, not another Pace!!! Sorry folks, bare with me here, labour of love over the last 7 odd Months, you may have seen some updates on Facebook but I thought I’d do a proper update here...

So, start of the year, I dug my bike out of the shed and it was in a sorry condition...

It was embarrassing, I completely neglected the bike and it looked in a sorry state, I gave her a well deserved clean but to my horror thought I’d located a crack near the bottom bracket area...

Urgh...time for a strip and proper look, please let it be fixable

So, after stripping it appeared that it was cracked paint, not the frame...

Time to lavish it with love and polish...whilst I was at it, the XLite barends and Stem/steerer got some love too

So it was off to the anodisers, I wanted something a little different, I’d seen some really nice builds out there notably Racer X’s Purple Paces, they were lush.

I wanted to tribute the 92 Pace Team Bikes, but didn’t want Purple...urm what about Pink??

Oh good lord!!!

I also went for a clean and re chrome of my stem steerer, turned out well eh...

So, getting a Pace Team build together was tricky, I’d already had a Mavic groupset so thought I’d use that instead of hunting down an XT groupset, needed Magura Racelibes which I scored cheaply, also got myself a Turbomatic saddle so I was pretty much there...

Thanks all, hope you like the finished product...

Re:

Already looking like it’s shaping up to be a lovely build.

I’m kind of glad you didn’t give the stem/steerer the pink treatment as well, it could have ended up looking really quite “wrong”

Thanks mate, yes thankfully I couldn’t anodize the stem steerer as it was steel...looks good silver and breaks up the pink :)
