Hope Ti disk hub/spider problem

My 5 arm spiders seem to be warped or bent (got them secondhand). I have perfectly straight brand new rotors on but there is a little side to side wobble when the wheel is spinning. It could be that the outer part of the hub has moved slightly (old 3 piece hubs with Ti middle section). I reckon its probably the spider though. Same issue front and rear. I could try shimming the rotor as a bodge fix. I'll also see if thoroughly cleaning the interface between the rotor/spider or spider/hub helps.

What do you think guys, anyone else had this issue?

I had issues with the lock ring becoming loose BITD with my Hope C2's with Ti hubs.
The issue was due to thermal expansion of the spider due to heat being transferred though the disc to the spider. The expansion caused the spider to become a loose fit on the spines and in turn back off the lockring. In the end I had to reface the rear of the spider on a linisher as it had become burred and reassemble the whole spider, disc and lock ring using a high temperature thread locking compound. 12 years later I’ve not had a repeat of the issue of loose/non true running spider
I'd inspect the spline and spider interface. Clean up the interfacing surfaces. Use a Park 'Green' Peg tool to slacken off the lockrings.

I have this problem,and ive 4 frigging wheels worth
I think shimming would help,but are the arms totally clean on the face? no lumps of alloy from the threads?

I think the main problem is the tolerances on the spider,they worked mainly with 'closed' c2,m4 etc where the clearance between the pads and rotor was much greater,allowed you to back off so any wobble doesnt rub,but you're never too far out that horsing on the levers wont stop you.

I now think the above is the cause on mine so im going to see if i can make a jig to slowy face the mounts.

Im using Mini Mono's with the self setting bite point. This basically means the pads run really close to the rotor if its so much as a gnats gonad off true they rub.

I just cleaned every interface up till 100% spotless (no bumps of splinters) and the problem remains but not as bad as before. The rub is so minimal I could probably live with it now.

When you say jig do mean a proper jig so the inner face where the splines are can be machined or ground perfectly flat? That would work but it depends if the face on the hub is totally flat too.

If its only a tiny bit then the spline is unimportant,but the chances are that its the spider rotor surfaces that arent perfectly aligned.
I need a couple of days to think on this and see if i can utilise the caliper mounts to hold the jig,using both holes should mean it will sit parallel to the rotor mounts.

Others might want to think up some jig ideas

Today I'm going to try rotating the spider one spline at a time and see if there is a seewt spot when everything runs true.
