Unfortunately that's perfectly normal for those hubs. Took me a while to find a decent pair for the Martyn Ashton bike

This is madness, over complicated and will look awful.

It clearly just needs a couple of jubilee clips around each end, and now it will be much easier to get them on.

eh a few drops of super glue will do just fine!

On a more serious note, I hope you didn't get injured from this material failure?

Looks like it was 'intact' while the rim was on.

It's now in "safe mode".

No riding involved in this one thankfully. Spotted the crack and removed the hub from the wheel as the rim can have a second life. The hub is toast. Or spares I guess.
