Hope hub ID and rear axle replacement

I'm trying to get this wheel back on the road and wondered if anyone knows where I can get a replacement axle (Q/R 135mm).

I did some basic research about a year ago phoning up Hope and they told me the name but I've forgotten it (XC something?). They also told me that they don't stock them anymore and would not make me another. I phoned a few London bike shops up but no luck.

I need a new axle as I was trying to replace bearings and it would not knock out as it was meant to - I referred to the Hope website and the instructions were for a newer model which is knocked out the other way - so to cut a long story short - I munched the axle and need a replacement.

Obviously not fussed if it is new or second hand

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Simon

I may just have that very axle. I recently purchased a wheel and when in arrived the hub flange AND freehub body were cracked. I'm toying with the idea of throwing on some slicks and using it in the road for light riding but on the other hand, i dont really feel like having the wheel collapse crossing the road in traffic. My hub looks to be the same but silver

EDIT: I double checked and its the same

Sweet - How much dollar will it take for me to convince you that selling the hub would be better than a sequence of unfortunate events as you described.

Another suggestion that may help-

Find a suitable replacement hub and Ill build it up around your old rim with some new spokes.

Try Chainreactioncycles, it's called a Ti-Glide, it also looks like you could do with replacing a few spokes.

It's normally the other way around though ;)

I'm in th UK, North London area - and you? I can travel

I know the spokes are bent to hell but I dont want to replace them all as they are titanium rainbow effect. They are non drive spokes anyway. If they break then Ill replace. Thanks for the heads up though.

I just had a look and found somewhere that still sells them if anyone is interested in something a little different.

I just had a look at chainreaction and they list the axle and says its Ti-glide compatible so Ill give them a ring as mine looks slightly different. I think I have the older (2 cir clip) model. I cant really remember what Hope told me a year ago ut its something like that.

Thanks for the advice so far

Tip: make sure you keep your old parts - especially the end caps.

I have a Hope Sport hub that won't quite sit right for disc brakes because I thought the Hope XC end spacers would be the same since the axle is. I threw out the battered old caps before the new ones arrived
