Hope Evo cranks. Fakery?

Could be fakes, looking at ones on ebay the machining on the back looks cleaner and the crank length is engraved not etched. But it doesn't matter if they are fakes if they work, are strong, look good and were good value. If you really want to know you should ask Hope.

Thanks. A few pics when lined up against the red set I have. They seem very similar in most respects. Not easy to compare exactly as crank lengths differ as does chain ring size. Machining on the back looks the same, as does most of everything else. Agree the sizing text is different, as is a bit of machining finish on the back of the arms. Weight wise it's about right comparing them and the different length arms.

I'll see what hope say.

Hope confirmed they aren't genuine. Seller refusing to refund. Bought via eBay, aid via PayPal. What are my options?

Ebay may take action with your info from Hope. PayPal likewise.

Never realised fakery had gone this far.

That's my theory, though with the sellers stance, if I send the item back, they don't sound like they'll accept them back. eBay usually require the item to be returned and confirmed. I reckon they will pull a fast one.

sorry to hear. side by side those white line details don't look right on the drive side.. clearly they got it right on the NDS.

Instant eBay claim if it was me.

Agreed. eBay claim is the way as they are not as described. eBay usually side with the buyer anyway.

Apply for a refund as Not As Described and state reason. You can usually add a photo, so screenshot any correspondence from Hope. EBay should force a return notice on them or possibly just refund you and bill them.
