Hope C2's: Which Adapter/Caliper Half?

Dirt Disciple
Guys,

I want to fit rigid forks to an old Saracen currently fitted with my old Pace MXCD's. The Pace forks have the Hope disc adapter fitted:

And I now want to fit these forks (or something similar for road only use):

Question is, which Hope adapter plate and/or caliper half do I need to fit the caliper?

If anyone has the parts I need (or some equivalent forks!), plus the axle end fitting for the Hope hub, please let me know.

BTW I sold all the bits I now need a couple of year ago, so now no doubt I can buy them back at an inflated price. Brilliant!

Cheers

If you're using those forks or something similar with an IS mount you need a no 3 or no 5 caliper and a spacer for your front hub to take up the space where the existing caliper was. I don't think the spacer was ever a standard part but it would take one of the members with a bit of steel or alu stock 5 mins to make one up.

Dyn-ti has a vast collection of hope calipers, he'll be along soon to tell me how wrong I have it ;)

Re:

Thanks,

Is there any way of telling which caliper half? does it depend on disc diameter?

The spacer was a standard part, and IIRC it incorporated a flared splash cover for the hub bearing. I did have a couple, but sold them dammit.

I've got a lathe, so I can always make something up, but it would be easier if I could get the proper thing.

Cheers.

no 5 caliper 165mm disc on front 145mm disc on rear

no 3 caliper 185mm disc on front 165mm disc on rear

the spacer is of a hope sport hub and think ive got one spare at home i can send u if u need one

Cheers Tony.

The front disc is a 155 - yup, it's old...

Could you supply the parts I need to convert, assuming a 155 disc is compatible with some kind of caliper half? Not sure what's currently fitted - it's covered by an adapter plate.

Alternative is to fit a 165 disc, No.5 caliper and the spacer.

Could you also supply a banjo type end fitting?

Thanks a lot for the info.

I can suppy the caliper but don't have a disc to fit the spider but these are available from hope

What banjo bit do u need ?

 Unfortunately ive given the vast majority away to other members  Can you guys beg or what
Ive enough left to keep me in spares should i need them so i can offer only advice.
And maybe a swop

Spacer is a standard ;) 13mm i think. Ill measure one and add it tonight.

And aye, a No 3 or 5 with the IS to IS mount.
There is an adaptor that i think takes a No1(that you have there) and fits to different calipers J mount is it :? Boxxer on here would know and im sure we can expect him at some point.

Theres a thread with all things Hope on it which i 'Hope' will be some help, as was its intention.
One day ill complete it and start about doing a detailed edited version that 'Hope'fully John will sticky in a technical help section.

All the info is spread about with plenty of pics.
Any issues then pm me or any of the regular posters on that thread who will then give you my details and breathe a sigh of relief

Yep, The spacer is 13mm long in total. IIRC it had an "o"ring in the bore to stop it falling off, and a slight step on the large face in order for it to contact only the inner race of the hub bearing.

Do I also need a different axle?
