Picked up some more Hope bits and pieces. Mostly 2nds but a few new parts and plenty of of the hard to find things, spacers, bearings and the like.

Oh, and C2 caliper's.

Amongst it all was a nice new screw on rear, in 135mm but with a disc mount and a 4 bolt rotor mount to boot. Thought i knew Hopes history

Interesting the rotor mounts from over the years :? Starting ( I think) with 6 bolt, though not todays pattern,on to 3 bolts with the original floating rotors, then to 4 and then to 5 , culminating in the 6 mounts we use today. :?
The 6,5 and 3 i knew about. Was totally blown away to find they did a 4 bolt rotor mount.

Hi there.

Fantastic collection of bits you've got there.

You mentioning that the three arm rotor have a floating disk demanded me I have question about the threm. Is there supposed to be a serrated spring washer either side of the disk, or just on one side?

I have one but it has been in a box for years and when I came to put it together the other day I had 4 of the serrated washers. Just wondering if I have one too many or two too few?? :?: :?:

If it's the latter, I don't suppose you have any spares do you? :D

Both sides.
No spares no :) But they do strike me as being or looking like rather, the type readily available in the engineering trade. :?
Given Hope and the rest were new to this whole disc brake thingy and so that makes me think they werent custom made for this project :?

Could be wrong but im pretty sure if you looked about at engineering spring washers at that size you'd find a vast range :?
Ive a spare one of the spiders, came with the rotor worn so thin you could use it to slice bacon  , every bolt rusted on and after i did get them off the washers were rusted and falling apart, the other 2 i have are near new and unlikely to ever suffer that fate.

Thought so.

I'll pop down the fasteners place in town when I get a chance. It's always good when I have an excuse to go in.

If I find some do you want any? Can't see them breaking the bank. :D

Re:

I remember chatting to the guys from Hope at the grundigs in Plymouth (must have been '95) they were keen to get thier stuff on to bikes and offered to make AMP compatible hubs to tie in with my discs, or mounts to take their stuff. It could well be for Cannondale or Formula that some one asked for.

And would you be interested in helping me out with one of the #1 calipers you have in that stash - need one for the judy mounts I picked up recently....

Little package with caliper 1/2, piston, banjo ,2 knurled end nuts and a little something extra ;) winging its way to you shortly.
