Hope 04 front disc brake

I just took this off a bike, I am not very well up on parts after '94, so all I know is its a hope 04 hydraulic brake lever and brake.

Was working when I took it off, but awhile in the shed and it seems quite sluggish, probably needs a bleed and some care.

I'd love this. but a few questions.....

Hose length? sluggish how?....rebound or what?

Plus would you hold onto it a bit

Black hose length is 85-86 cm

I'm more of a v-brake person, they are now staying in closed position (apparently its not good to pull hydraulic disc brakes without the rotor) so they either need to be opened again or bled.. I am not sure.

They were running perfectly on this front wheel I currently have for sale (before I took them off and arsed around with them)
