Does anyone know if hoods from mavic 440 levers fit the 541 levers ?

If you mean the Mavic 451 (Dia-Compe) levers then they are different hoods to the 440 hoods

Not seen 451 hoods for many years, will keep an eye out for them and give you a shout if I see any

How much are they? If cheap - take a chance.

Hoods are an absolute nightmare to get and even if they are close, go for it. Exact ones may take a while to source and I won't comment about the actual cost but i will say i bought a box of stuff from ebay for over £130 to get a pair of hoods from it, a nightmare.

Any Dragons Den fans here should try and get investment to have a business producing old hoods - there really has to be money in it without the buyers getting robbed.
