Hi all
For sale here for £200 is a bike left behind by my late father who was an avid competitive cyclist in his younger years around the early 1970s.
This has been kept in a garage completely unused since at least what I can remember from 1990, no doubt way earlier than that. The start of frame number cannot be identified due to paint condition etc however it is suspected to be an early 1970s item based on my knowledge of when he was heavily into the sport and the fact that he had another Holdsworth item known to be a 1971 model alonmg with many cycling publications from 1970 & 1971.
This bike was no doubt well used in the past and has multiple signs of flaky paint / rust and the tyres have degraded to the point they are peeling away from the rims. Aside from that, the crank and handlebars move freely so no doubt this is a good candidate for a restoration project. The frame size is shown in one of the attachments which albeit is annotated over a different frame, it matches the dimensions of this bike.
I've identified the price from the related post in the Reader's Retro Road Bikes post HERE where other information / discussion can be seen along with details on another Holdsworth frame I'm selling in a separate post HERE
What could also be bolted on to the sale are some magazines from the era as described in the post HERE however I have no idea what value should be applied to those at this point in time.
I am based in Worsley, close to Manchester / Bolton / Salford, viewing welcome and collection in person preferred.
I have listed this item on ebay as per link HERE (link to be updated soon when created)
Feel free to request additional specific photos or other information.
Thank you
