Hinde Racing Columbus Zonal XC build thread

I bet those tube walls feel thin, i've got a similar frame and the feeling's the same.
yup - not that confidence inspiring to hold in your hands before building up - though it rides solidly enough - albeit with a sort of buzzing/resonance over uneven surfaces - reminiscent of when coke cans suddenly became a lot thinner , you kind of thought, how does this not just collapse? :)

Yes, feels like you could damage the downtube by grabbing it too hard, but it has seen and survived a lot of riding. Mine has a sus fork though, and it's one of the main beaters.

That's looking good. Nice frame.
The rear mech isn't fitted right, the little piece between the hanger and top pivot on the mech should be pointing back at 90º to the hanger, it has a stop on it that will sit against the hanger tab. Should sort the mech being too far forward. :)

Hi, yes, thanks for taking trouble to reply, I thought same about derailleur hanger, I put it on the stand and checked that the tab was engaged on the flat section of the hanger and it was , plus the tension screw was screwed all the way in too, it was then I noticed there are TWO little tabs on the derailleur mount - the second of which allows another 30 degrees of rotation ( both are very small projections cast into the circular mount and nowhere near the full width of the tab on the hanger) - this second mounting option also puts a LOT more tension on the chain and points the derailleur jockey arm directly vertically downwards - it is very crunchy on the 46T lowest cog - I will try it for a while in this configuration - it feels like everything is under enormous strain and about to burst - but all 11 gears index aok still and top and bottom gears engage smoothly - on the 38T chainring at least. Ultimately I think I will still ditch the GRX in favour of Deore mech which I have used before and not had any issues.
