Simple...93 Shimano LX with the M65 cartridge type pad look as good and probably work as good or better than anything else that's been mentioned.

Like the ones I gave away 6 months ago... . . I think.
Will definitely take a peek, I could probably keep all my internal organs if they are just the ticket

What M number we talking gm? Just checked a couple of timeliness and there's 4 listed for LX in 93.

I can't believe no-one has mentioned Avid Tri-Align, with matching Speed Dial Ultimate levers!

Think I have both in my gallery but in silver, they did come in black though

Found the levers in your gallery mate but not the canti's..

Really not a fan of Avid levers at all....

Here are some nice grafton levers. Light and adjustable for long or short pull. Very cool levers.

I am also a major fan of the Real "X" levers. These are light and also pull adjustable for either v-brake or canti's and look really nice to boot. They use aluminum chainring bolts for the bar clamps which is nice and and light and they can easily be replaced if they strip-out. I have had a few sets of these and although they are a bit newer they are my favorites and have a great lever feel and quality finish and construction.

Or 4ft nipples

Those Graftons wouldn't look quite so nice in plain black though, would they?

I actually really like the Suntour XC Pro levers.. might swap them out for black or something..

Or save for some Pauls

Or change my cables to black and leave the champagne lushness on there
