Morning ladies and gents, just thought I'd introduce myself!

I've been browsing the forum recently admiring the bikes on here and reminiscing!

I had a GT Zaskar LE in 1998 with full XTR groupset and over the years changed all the parts (as you do!) until it turned into an Avalanche LE and was 2 inches smaller!

Anyway, I thought it was time to join as I'm clearing out my shed and I've got a few nice bits I need to get rid of before I move house and I thought you guys might like first pick before I put them on eBay :)

All proceeds will go towards a set of new forks for my 2011 Cube Analog which I ride about 9 miles a day on the commute :)

Welcome to retrobike, I hope you stay after you've sold your kit it's a good laugh on here, you may even regret selling your stuff and hankering after another retro bike!

If you do post a for sale topic, please read the rules/announcements on selling here: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=2

I'm quite a fan of Cube bikes, very good value & high quality, not a lot of bikes out there that can match then for spec, price or weight

What forks are you after? 100mm RS Reba would be a good choice, or Fox F100 maybe? Any RS forks with Motion Control are good. Those sort of forks pop up on here from time to time, check out the for '98+ sale/wanted section, you never know!

yes, hello and welcome

we hope you will stay but know that you probably will anyway  'just another five minutes'

welcome to rb......dont get rid of your kit on a whim.....you will probably come back here and it will have a second lease of life!....

some people sell there gear then end up buying it back for more further down the line!

oh, and welcome!

Hi Andy,

I'm after something either 100/120mm. Been looking at the RS Reba's but don't know if I can justify the cash. Same goes for the Fox's.

Can you recommend any under £200? I don't mind buying s/h so I'll have a look at the for sale section now :)

Just over budget @ £230, but brand new: http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/FORSREGTK/r ... kout--coil

I'd look at any Rockshox forks with Motion Control Damping.

In order of preference Reba, Recon, Tora.

You should be able to pick up a 2nd hand pair of Reba's within your £200 budget, last pair I bought were a few years old Reba's & cost £116 on another forum

That's exactly what happens on every forum I join! :D

Thanks everyone for the welcome!

They come up as £189 when I open the page!

Only reason I'm holding off is because I heard that the "Solo air" were so much better than the coil version? Or is that a myth?
