Found the site whilst looking for information.
Keen cyclist mostly mountain / cycle tracks , got a soft spot for gt's in general and have bought what i believe to be a real original Zaskar 91/92 for restoration, I have however grown Dubious of some of the information i'm Getting.
Can anyone tell me if by a frame number I have an original Zaskar and where it was made as I think i'm getting confused by what seem to be conflicting info i'm finding. Are there any Zaskar only threads on this forum.

ps frame number 04911277 it has a 6061 tubing sticker on it gt embossed forks, the Zaskar stickers and the all important flat badge at back.

any info greatly appreciated thanks

Hello and welcome

The 0491 indicates the frame was built in April 1991 and the 6061 confirms that it's a Zaskar.

It may well have been manufactured in early 1991 but that doesn't always mean it was sold in 1991. Potentially sold later in 91 as a 1992 model year bike. Both however had the rear U-brake. (1993 frames had canti brakes)
The decals should distinguish the model year.
