Hi From Wales and Zaskar troubles.

I have today contacted the seller and he has offered a full refund however I really wanted to restore the bike, The bike is as original as it could be and would not of had forks fitted. I have also contacted a local specialist welder who specializes in alloy wheel repairs and who has also experience of fixing bikes. Danson67 where abouts are you? I believe the bike to be Taiwanese how could i confirm this? I will check for numbers etc when the weather changes !
Thanks for the advice so fat guys

These are amreican built frames if it has 6061 stamped on the rear drop out along with the frame number on the other.

Speaking as a fat zaskar owner.

just to weigh in, Zaskars aren't rare enough to warrant welding, even if it wasn't really quite difficult.

TBH, if be more worried about the damage you can't see/haven't found given that particular failure..........

Have not repaired yet but welder fully confident he can fix, ebay seller willing to contribute to cost or fully refund, given i'e always wanted a bb Zaskar i'll probably repair but family bereavement and xmas / new yr hols have taken over at mo, will aim for 5th jan when welders fully return and lifes more settled, where can I get stickers/ decals guys? thanks for the interest
gareth
