Dementia is a terrible thing, possibly the worst. Almost a living death. My sympathies to your friend John.https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/1953-hetchins-experto-crede-lugs.450039/
I did a Crede for John previously, he has it in his study with some of his old cycling clothing draped over it. He can’t ride on the roads but keeps as fit as he can on a Turbo. Such a shame his wife’s dementia is robbing them of their life, he looks after her at home.
I think sometimes people forget the partner, he dotes on her and refuses to put her into care. Wonderful old boy.Dementia is a terrible thing, possibly the worst. Almost a living death. My sympathies to your friend John.
Agreed, it's who the sufferer "leaves" behind, that still has their mind intact that suffer. Edit, having been married a long time, I would like to think I would be capable of doing the same as John.I think sometimes people forget the partner, he dotes on her and refuses to put her into care. You have some lovely bikes mate so does Mr Simpson. On subject of Mario, he showed me some really nice framesets in addition to you CB, some finished and some still in their raw state. Ron Cooper, H Hill etc, but it was a fabulous Holdsworth sporting intricate lugs was one that caught my eye - fortunately too big for me, my shed is full as is.
Just found photos of John when I gave him th Crede back and it in his study.https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/1953-hetchins-experto-crede-lugs.450039/
