Thanks again folks for all of the information and memories!
I am glad that I found this frame and also renewed some interest in your local cycling lore/history.

At this point with the knowledge I have gleaned, I plan to conservatively restore keeping original livery, but getting areas of rust professionally repainted.

On this side of the pond it will certainly continue to receive praise and inquiry.

Sorry, not sure. Might be Lloyd, or Lightweight maybe, I'll ask John for the number on his frame and see if that gives any clue.

I have several too. I'm sure there were many more as I rode O2 quite often but Rob must have missed me when he was doing his sales rounds

I didn’t miss too many as i was under orders to hang around just before the start line and pass out my dad’s cards to riders waiting for their start time.

And as there was usually a full start sheet on the O2, that meant staying there for two hours - a lifetime for a young lad!

John's number is L873 so would be 3rd frame built in 1987, which rings true with when he received it.
