Yes. I found that thread, but never found a solution. The picture I posted is actually from that thread because I couldn't get a picture of my brake mounts at the time, but they are identical.

Thanks everyone for the help. I think I have come to the conclusion that the easier route is to run front v-brakes.if I get adventurous I may try and fab up an adapter or buy a new fork. While I'm at it, does anyone have opinions on going 34t up front and 11-42 out back? I am wondering if 42t will be over kill on this bike, but then again I am no mountain goat, so it may be nice to have the option.

That's probably not a bad combination you will get a good climbing gear and won't spin out on the flat which you might if you went 30 chainring and 11-36 cassette.

Thank you everyone again for the help. I thought it would be good to post the semi-finished product as well as a post maiden ride photo. The front ring has been switch out for a spiderless Jericho 34t. All that's left to do is a new saddle, it rode great!
