20H0500 - the 0500 refers to it being built in May (05) of year 2000 (00) I think (this is based on the information I was given when I asked about mine)

I'll be corrected by someone more knowledgeable if I'm wrong,

Be good to see some pics ;)

hi steve
i will get my girlfriend to do photos later far too technical for me!
it is the same colour as your 98 model
but the cables are inside the frame if you know what i mean
i have been cleaning it and i am amazed at the condition of the frame
bloody retrobikes is costing me a fortune!
the modern cube has to go and maybe even the zaskar if the klein is as good as i am hoping !
unless i store it under my bed!
thanks for your info

Yeah, mine's a bit 'unique' ;) in that way

I love mine to death, it's been the bike I've ended up riding the most, I wanted one since the very early 90's and it's lived up to every preconceived dream I had, even if it isn't a genuine Gary ;) .

Steve is right with serial number/date, i think the 20 refers to the size? which is large/extra large, but this can be confirmed with a picture ;)

Looks nice in the pics, and yeah very similar colour to mine

Looks to be only one colour, rather than a fade from pale blue into purplely blue like mine, or is that just the photo's in this lovely bright sun we're experiancing at the moment....?

My Klein has the top tube external cables as well. It made me a bit sad as I remember an ex girlfriend buying a cheapo Diamondback that had them and I was dismissive of it as my Kona had the cables nicely routed along the side of the top tube. However as a bike to ride as opposed to a bit of object d'art it is fantastic, I think the tubing and the frame geometry is the same, just the welding isn't of the supernaturally clean type that pre-trek Kleins had.
