Was wondering if anyone would be able to help identify a bike I recently bought.
Got it from a small shop just north of London after a tip off from a cycling g friend.
It looks late 40s early 50s but has quite distinctive lugs as you can see from the pictures. It's also huge at 26inches.
Unfortunately had a respray at some point and no head badge (and no holed for one) or decals.
The shop said guy who brought it in was 6ft7in and said it was his Dad's and even too big for him as his dad was taller !
He said it was a Pearson.....which is my local shop but as far as I'm aware they never built their own frames although I don't know their early history.
At first thought it might be a Gillott Spearpoint having looked at some photos but have contacted Marque enthusiast Mark Stevens who says he's 99% certain it isn't as the top and down tube extension's are wrong and he said it was a bit crude for them.
Wheels have FB Hubs with 53 date code on cones which sounds right for style if frame.
Does anyone here have any ideas ?
Cheers
