Help...whats my bike?

Some kind of trek or gary fisher, may be because the design of the rear swinger trek own the pattern. were the mounting bolt is halfway up the swing arm triangle. bolting the y part of the frame to the swing arm stay i think. ???? nice looking bike

I'm hoping it will be a nice bike! Would like to get the relevant decals for it though, if I can find out exactly what it is?!

Dunno....they've been sat in my garage for a few years. Bought them second hand as an un branded make, but they work well. Seem to think they were just 'zoom' or something like?

Not a Trek although similar style y-frame but Trek didnt use such boxy section tubing and where the pivot is mounted on a URT design is not patented by anyone that I know of otherwise Trek would be battling with Giant and Univega to name but two companies to build a bike with the pivot location there.
Negative view is its a BSO be it burly built or not. Positive wise it might be a small boutique brand.

Im sure i read somewere Trek do own the pattern thats why many bikes.that look similer With same design ie. And alot. Of cheap models dont have the swing arm bolt fixing half way up the rear triangle. Yet many still use y frames ect Not saying im 100 only saying what i read stop pedal bob or something please check

Pivot location on URT frames is always a compromise. If Trek does have its pivot location patented it'll be its exact location. Anyone else would just need to move there pivot location a cm or so to circumvent it. Baring in mind Trek own Klein and the Mantra has a high pivot point whilst still being URT it suggests that even Trek were not sure of the best pivot point.

Yea i think they went with the urt for some time. i read some of the firstl y frame treks were Not to good . there is sites dedicated to trek y framed bikes. been around for fairly long time.
merida were making mono shock bmx in the 80s.
I have a y frame merida mono shock badged as old carrera Fury, diffent frame than the early banchee models.
bb is on main frame just under the swing arm bolt and not on the swingàrm. Mono shock design ithink
. I looked through pagès of info on y frame seem like many company used the urt designs
im sure iv seen his bike somewere just cant rember were. His. Frame is 3 piece box sections . alot of company use two pieces??? On main frame.
Thanks for info pritty interesting stuff

dunno bout bike but they be zoom forks alright..... watch em they have a habit of developing a crack at the back of the crown near the steerer if u dont notice it could lead to a bigtime failure........ and maybe a trip to the dentist
might be best to strip back the paint in that area to make inspection easier
i wouldnt go too big on em there not really competion grade
