Retro Newbie
Recently acquired this project bike , but struggling to identity as the frame number is badly worn - I can make out S 11 but not much else . I’m wondering if it could be a Raleigh record , rapide or similar? Henry Burton light weights is close and Viking would have been back in the day. Oh, and it was definitely red and has had replacement forks. .thanks for looking.

Antipodean bike? :D
I'd guess not a Raleigh Record but only because istr Raleigh deeming the Record to be a bit sporting and hence at odds with the long arm mech and centre-pull brakes that look original. Is that a 531 transfer on the forks? Looks hand-painted with Hammerite. Someone wanted it to last.
Close-up of the chain side rear dropout would be useful too. My starting guess is it was once a Falcon but really nothing more than a guess.

Re:

Yeah, I get a sense they wanted it to last , definitely a workhorse! Not sure if these photos help ??

Well, as I have a bit of time on my hands , I’ve decided to have a bit of a play and give it some paint.
