Help to identify the frame.

Hi All.

I bought this frame and am trying to figure out what it could be.

Typing Racer 7040 on the web shows me absolutely nothing.

Looking at the quality of the lettering I assume the frame may have been repainted.

The frame has some interesting features, such as strengthening at the top tube near head and mounting a bottle cage.

Do you have any idea what it could be?

Thanks a lot! I have probably not searched enough.

Okay, that means that the frame is in the original paint job.
In both photos the frame is equipped with XTR, so it must be some high end model.
In size 19" (CT) it weighs 1965g.

That is 100% a Hodaka/Fastrax frame. Best known in the UK as a Coyote. That suggests that the Racer brand is not a UK one. Would be interested in any more photos of the 7040 if you have any.
