Dirt Disciple
I just bought a Klein frame which the seller said is around 1994 vintage. Photos below.

The paint looks nasty in these shots - looks like it’s on the BB shell too? - but the seller says “It all looks original. I suspect it has a very subtle fade or mottle effect from factory. When wet you can see a pearl effect. There doesn't look to be any difference in the paint where the decals have come away and on the chain stay protection sticker so best assumption is that its all original.”

Now waiting on delivery, but until then, based on these two photos, can anyone take a punt at what I’ve bought?

A Pinnacle

Yea. Definitely a pinni. Has been drilled out for a Magura or V-brake. Shame. The color doesn't look original to me. Klein did not paint over the bb. Or the headset coups, for that matter. They did paint over the bottle cage bolts and the cable guide beneath the bb though.

Have a look out for cracks around where the seat tube fastener slit ends.

Cheers Thias. When you say it’s been drilled out, do you mean at the seatstay bridge?

Sorry, I’m feeling super ignorant with this new project!

Yes. And it is likely that the corresponding cable stop up front is drilled through, too.
