Courtesy of a member of this fine forum I have purchased a pair of Orange F7 forks which I am going to fit to my c16 bike in place of the suspension forks (don't like them, no need for them).

The procedure seems straightforward enough. I've had no problem removing the Crown race from my old forks.
My only query is this. If you look closely at the F7 forks the steerer tube is the same diameter all the way down except for the section about 3mm from the bottom where they become about 1mm wider. Obviously the crown race happily slides down to the bottom of the tube but sits on top of this wider section, not right down at the bottom of the tube.
Either this is intentional and I just carry on, or I need a different crown race. I don't THINK the latter is likely but I have no doubt the wisdom of this forum will come to my aid
